I've lived in Bharat for majority of my life. Yet, I've barely scratched the surface of all this country has to offer. There are 29 states and 7 Union territories in my country. My goal is to explore all of them. I'll organize this page with subsections for each state / territory, followed by general information on logistics, costs, transport and the like.

I've traveled a fair bit but the architectural glory of some of the ancient temples in Rajasthan left a lasting impression on me. Case in point, the extraordinary level of detail in this white marble temple from the 11th century A.D.

A lot of temples across the country were historically plundered and desecrated by invading Mughal and Turk invaders. Many a sculptures in these temples stand decapitated even today, for instance, at the Sahastra-Bahu temple near Udaipur:

Bharat has it's own version of the Great Wall located in the famous Haldi Ghati. It's smaller in length compared to the Great wall of China but no less impressive. The wall protects the fort where Maharana Pratap was born. There's a light and sound show in the night at the wall but it's only in Hindi.

There's some well-preserved intricate art and architecture within the many forts and palaces in Rajasthan:

Delhi has some really impressive architecture.  Some notable sites are: Qutub Minar (which has a lot of remnants of destroyed hindu / jain temples on the pillars in the courtyard), Akshardham temple and Hauz Khas ruins, amongst others. The city itself is chaotic and crowded but has a clean and well-developed subway / metro transit system to easily get from one place to another.

Unfortunately, they don't let cameras inside the Akshardham temple. So, you'll just have to visit it to experience it. I'll update this section as and when I have more time.

India is a fantastic country, full of beautiful landscapes and warm, friendly people. It can be challenging but if you are cautious and use some common sense, you'll have wonderful experiences.
